1. Introduction

Welcome to NBM Publications ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service govern your use of the NBM Publications platform, accessible at nbm-publications.base44.app (the "Platform"). By registering or using this Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

NBM Publications is an academic publishing platform designed for secondary school students aged 13–18. If you are under 18, you must have read these Terms with a parent or guardian and confirm their consent before registering.

2. Eligibility & Age Restrictions

The Platform is open to:

• Student researchers aged 13 to 18 (with parental consent required for users under 16 in the UK under UK GDPR).
• Verified academic professionals (professors, researchers) aged 18 and over.

By registering as a student under 16 years old, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms and consented to your use of the Platform. We may request verification of parental consent at any time and may suspend accounts where consent cannot be confirmed.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others. You agree to provide accurate information when registering. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Content & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all research papers and content you submit to the Platform. By submitting content, you grant NBM Publications a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and share your content on the Platform for the purposes of academic publishing.

You must not submit content that: infringes third-party intellectual property rights; constitutes plagiarism; is defamatory, obscene, or illegal; or violates any applicable law.

5. Expert Review Services

Expert reviews are provided by independent verified academics. Review payments are processed securely via Stripe. Your payment is held until delivery of the review. If a review is not delivered within the agreed timeframe, you are entitled to a full refund. Contact support@nbmpublications.com to raise a dispute.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: post hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content; upload illegal, violent, or adult content; attempt to access other users' accounts; misrepresent your identity or academic credentials; use the Platform to solicit payments or promote external services.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, without notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@nbmpublications.com.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NBM Publications shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our maximum aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
